FAQs
Why 24/7?
Because God is worthy of unending prayer and worship from all of his creation! Because our region needs people of prayer to rise up and contend for the kingdom of God to break out!
Continual prayer has its roots in Biblical times and has made its mark throughout Church history. From in the tabernacle of David with thousands of Levites taking shifts to sing and minister to the Lord day and night - to the Moravians whose 100 year prayer meeting fueled an entire missions movement. Along with countless revivals that have been sparked by just a few people who devoted themselves to prayer.
We are joining a chorus that began long before us and are expectant to see how God moves!
How do I sign up for a slot?
We use an online sign-up system created by 24/7 Prayer, an organization that supports prayer rooms and 24/7 movements across the world. You can also sign up in person by stopping by the prayer room and speaking with a Gatekeeper.
You can sign up online here.
If you are having trouble figuring out how to sign up, there is a “help” page here.
If you need further help, email Susannah Storie at susannahstorie@gmail.com.
What about the night shift?
The night shift (which we are calling the Night Watch) is from the hours of 12-6am. The prayer room will be open and have security present during those hours until our Gatekeepers get there in the morning.
Do I have to come to the prayer room for my time slot or can I pray at home?
Our desire is for people to come and pray at the prayer room. We believe coming together in a specific location helps build community and togetherness throughout the 47 days. We also feel there is a treasure found in driving to a place, separate from home or work, where we can connect with God free of distraction and filled with His presence.
That being said, if you are unable to do that - we understand! We don’t want driving to the prayer room to deter anyone from signing up to pray with our community!
What if I signed up for a slot and then realize I can’t make it?
On the 24/7 Prayer signup page you are able to edit your slot by clicking on it and deleting it or changing the time. If you can’t make it, please delete or edit your slot so someone else can fill it!
Can more than one person sign up for a time slot?
Yes! If a time slot already has someones name on it you can add yours to it as well. There is no limit to how many people can sign up for a specific time slot.
Can I book the Prayer Room exclusively?
Unfortunately because FPR is a public space you can not book the entire space exclusively. Even though the 24/7 Prayer sign up page has an option to book it exclusively, we cannot accommodate that.
However, we do have 3 small rooms that can be privately booked for smaller groups here.
Can I, my church, or organization lead a prayer time during LENT 247?
Yes! We want local churches and organizations to lead times of worship and prayer for our unified community at the prayer room. We would love to have your church or organization lead a time of worship or prayer during the 47 days or after! Sign up for a slot or contact Dennis Peterson for more information: dennis@fayettevilleprayer.com.
Can I bring my own instruments and use the av system?
Yes! Please follow the directions left on the sound booth and take care of our equipment, but we would love for you to worship by song during your time in the prayer room!
What do I do during my hour in the prayer room?
There are many ways to pray. You can spend time in intercession, worship, prayerful Bible reading, centering prayer or just resting in God’s presence.
FPR has different prayer stations around the room created to help you engage with God while you are here - as well as Bible and devotional guides. We also have prayer requests from people in NWA scrolling on the screen for you to pray for.
We also have an “Hour in the Prayer Room” guide to help you engage with God. You can find that here.
Where is the Prayer Room located?
Our address is:
2846 N College Ave
Fayetteville, AR 72703
We are in the same parking lot as Basecamp Coffee and Tangiers.
Is FPR part of a specific church?
We are funded by a local church as a gift to the community as public prayer space in the city. We are not a church, and encourage those who benefit from FPR to get plugged in to a local church.
Who can I contact with further questions?
You can either contact Dennis Peterson at dennis@fayettevilleprayer.com or Susannah Storie at susannahstorie@gmail.com
